Default connecting ulterra to Carbon and Helix?

Our Boat came with the Ulterra, with a Carbon 9 at the bow( they are connected), We have a Helix 9 to add at the Helm and would like to connect it to the Ulterra in order to use the ipilot contour following feature, as well as see what the trolling motor sees while at the helm.

Will this idea work in theory?

Is there a Y cable can can be used to split the signal or does something else need to be used?

The follow the contour and certain other features are I Pilot
Link, that will not work if your Ulterra is I Pilot. You can check your TM to see which one it is by it's remote. Also the I pilot link motors have an ethernet cable, or at least a place to connect one. Good luck.

Okkkkkk, yes the ulterra has ipilot, will go check the remote. In any case it would be good to have the helm helix be able to see the image from the TMs transducer.

I do not think you will find any cable that would connect a Lowrance unit and H-bird unit to run the same transducer or share information. If you want to share the transducer then one unit will have to be replaced with like unit.

If you want to network the trolling motor. I would just sell the carbon and get another hummingbird. Adding a second transducer to your trolling motor would create allot of interference and mounting issues. Maybe you meant mounting another transducer to the transom. You could use the lowrence at the console then. Unless you mounted a hummingbird next to it to get follow the contour. I would not mess with running a transducer cable from the transom all the way up to the HD’s at the trolling motor. Just make sure whatever hummingbird you buy has enough networking features.
