Default Ulterra auto pilot

This is the third season on this Ulterra, the last two trips the auto pilot is taking on a mind of its own. With auto pilot ON the motor goes where it wants. I can reset the direction and right away it turns away from that point. Sometimes it wants to turn 180degrees.
Have you had this problem?

Did you check the remote to see if the setting for Legacy got changed to Advanced mode? Mine changes modes from time to time without me changing it. If you have the touch screen remote, stuff gets turned off and on all the time without notice.

I have Gen 1 Ulterra, not I-pilot, no remote GPS antenna, does that still apply?

I had a similar situation. I had to replace the head.

Remembered how to switch Gen1 Ulterra last weekend. When pushing the N button to switch Autopilot on, hold it down and the cirlcle around it disappears, which should be Compass only, when you switch it on and there's the circle around the North Up icon, that will be the GPS Autopilot mode.
