Thought I'd update the thread in case anyone is looking for performance info on this setup. I went with the 300 Verado and a 9.9 pro kicker, 36V Terrova I-Pilot.
Fully loaded with all my gear (lots of gear, compartments are stuffed), anchors, two batteries in the back and three in the front, both fuel tanks full, I am getting 61.5 mph (GPS) at 5950 RPM with a 21P Rev4 prop. Without all the gear in the boat and roughly 1/3 tank of fuel it was turning 6350 RPM and about 64 mph. I've got about six hours on the rig now, was told the Verado's "loosen up" after about 20 hours and may produce more power. I'm very satisfied with the performance, set out to get good rough water performance with a 4 blade prop and also be able to hit 60 on top end. Got it. On a side note, Mr Marine in Fond du Lac has done a great job on the setup and delivery of the boat, excellent job in the rigging. Would definitely recommend them to others. |

HRG--
I thought I would post this just for you since you wanted comments. There is still one major boat company that lets you pick whatever motor you would like from the factory and not pay big re-rigging costs???? Hmmmmmm, I think it is a ..........Ranger!!!!!! Haaaaaaaaaa

That cost is already built into the price of the boat. |

So your trying to say that the cost of ordering a Ranger from the factory with whatever brand motor is the same as if your ordered a Lund or Skeeter with their brand of motor, and then having the dealer have to take that motor and controls off and put your new motor with the proper controls on the same boat?? Boy, I must have had my eyes closed when I ordered my boat!!! Can't imagine it is the same cost there, in fact I know it doesn't even make sense to have to take a motor off and then put the actual motor you want back on. I know some dealers can order with no motor, but what you just said was a little off base!!!

Jerrod,
NO, I get that part. Mike was trying to say that the rigging cost is hidden in a Ranger rigged with one motor and seems like he was trying to equate that to having to take a certain motor off and re-rig it with another one. That is what I was trying to point out. I do realize that there is a price difference in boats. The Skeeter may be less, but the Lunds are right up there with the Rangers.

Sorry My tired eyes missed the re-rig part. I thought it read just "rigging" for the motor of choice. Just out of curiosity, which motor manuf. was the least expensive in motor choices on your Ranger. Mike |

No big deal. Guess I shouldn't get too excited about all of this stuff.
I know my etec was one of the more expensive options on the boat. I think of the 150's, the standard merc was the least expensive. The highest of course were the verados and the 175 PRO XS. I can find the list at home if you want to PM me, I can give you a better idea of the breakdown. It has been 2 years since I ordered, so I don't remember it all......
