For fishing weeds, I exclusively use the Northland jig called the Weed Weasel in your choice of colors. I have found that for many mid Minnesota lakes that the Firetiger color is the color of choice. In some waters like lake of the woods, it is tough to beat either white, or pink or red and white or pink and white:

The weed weasel can be baited with your choice of bait and run through weeds with normally very few snags or issues.

In shallow water, I will often use the 1/16th oz jig.

Another jig design that works well is BFishin Dragin jigs, the thin profile and weed guard works well.
