Default Nice

good info here, I am interested in your results after the install as well. I like the effects the tabs will have given uneven weight distribution we have in our boats.

I put them on a 175 SeaNymph Backtroller with 60 Merc 4S. They were great. Had a hard time getting on plane until I installed them, after no problem. They did slow my trolling speed but found they were too hard for me to activate and then deactivate. All in all, I think they were money well spent.

Took them out today and tried them.

First, I settled on the 13X17" spitfire 4-blade prop. Top speed is 43-44 mph at 5900 rpm. With the trim tabs, it's about 43 mph and now 5850 rpm. I had my wife with me today. The lean isn't as pronounced as before, but it's still there. My wife didn't even mind going full speed today. See comments below.

Trolling speed got cut from 2.5-2.6 mph to 1.9-2.0 mph. Didn't really play with that much today. Decided to stop fiddling with the boat and toss some buzzbait.

But MOST importantly....

The ride and handling is no comparison. Totally different boat. How it handle wakes everything

The biggest part of the ride improvement, the wife isn't complaining about the bouncing and impacts it has on her comfort. Yeah, she's well endowed. And today she said it was plesant to actually ride in the boat. Makes the cost right there totally worth it.

Remounted the transducers yesterday too. They are not tossing such a huge rooster tail and the images are much better now too. Plus I can now see the tell tale stream.

Nice glad you like them.
That’s how I felt about my boat going from the 19 pitch spitfire alum to 17 x7 stainless. Totally different boat. **** even the wife noticed a giant difference without me saying a word.

Still think you should buy a 17 x7 spitfire, bet it’s cheaper than the tabs even.

Forgot to add .......

Didn't feel like it was falling of plane now until 3500-3600 instead of 3800-3900.rpm.

Muskyman,
These tabs will help with several boat problems, but because they are not manually and independently adjustable, they will do little to help with an out of balance issue on the boat.

If you have the Bennett, or Lenco - much more expensive tabs that allow you to drop just one tab or the other, you can get help in keeping the boat level when underway.

Good luck

They won't adjust as you go down the lake..

But I have been able to pre adjust them knowing the load before I put it in the lake to help quite a bit.

I don't think it would be much to get an adjustment cylinder to install
