Default Yamaha 90 SHO on ProGuide 1875

Just ordered my new boat, 2021 Lund ProGuide 1875, ordered the boat blank and will be putting a Yamaha Vmax VF90 SHO on it.

I am just curious if, by chance, anyone is out there running this combo? I am just trying to anticipate prop choices and options.

I am sure it is a long shot, and if nobody does, I will update this thread with what I end up with.

I was looking at the Yamaha performance bulletins for this motor and there are only two similar rigs on their bulletins: a Warrior 1890 and a Smoker Craft 188T. Both these boats are much heavier than the Proguide, and are running 17p & 18P Talon aluminum props respectively. https://yamahaoutboards.com/en-us/ho...xa_11-6-18_wal
https://yamahaoutboards.com/en-us/ho...xa_1-10-19_alm

Eventually I want to end up with a stainless version (Likely Powertech), but my experience with the Yamaha Aluminum Talon props is that they end up running close pitch wise to some SS as they have quite a bit of cupping on them. (I can expand more on that experience later).

Anyway, any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure I'd trust that weight on the 188T, they show the same 1603# for the dual-console/windshield version.

Congrats on the new boat! I’ve seen a couple of pro guides with an SHO but I can’t help you with which prop they’re using.

I have a 2020 Competitor 185 with a F90 on it. I am just running the stock aluminum 17p and have been happy with it. Has surprisingly good hole shot, tops out around 34-35mph with 3 people/full fuel/gear at 5900ish rpm

I've got a kingfisher warrior tiller with a 90hp sho tiller. I'd say it's a bit lighter than the pro guide and I run a 19p three blade aluminum and 19p four blade aluminum hustler by turning point.

They are cheap and easy to replace with quiet hubs.

The four blade I think is a bit too much pitch loaded up tbh as I lose 3mph on the top end but leaps out of the hole, more responsive to trim and less tiller torque.

I'd say a 17p four blade would be my recommendation. I'll likely go that route as completely loaded I am under 6000rpm and lose some speed.

If price is no option, I'd go with a powertech scd 4 blade in a 17p.

If looking at performance bulletins, I'd say add two pitch to the F90 as the VF90 is geared for more pitch.

Marshall, when I look at the specs for the kingfisher warrior tiller it lists it at 900 lbs. wow, that’s really light.
The proguide is listed at 1300 dry

Definitely interested to see how this turns out!! This combo was what I wanted to order in vinyl/vinyl before I found my used/repowered 96 1890 pro v tiller. My guess is your going to end up right around the 39 mph mark with the best prop/motor height combo you test.

I have a 2019 1890 Warrior with the 90 SHO, 17 pitch. Works great, 38-39 mph
