Default Preparation and Install

It's hard to get the screws in straight enough to use the included backing plates with the same-size hole, so drilling will be a little bigger so the screw can be wobbled-in. It takes a little ingenuity to get the holes exactly where they ought to be. One could just use washers.

I used anti-seize on the screws.

Also, when mounting - make sure that the arm can bottom out at all locations - make sure your throttle arm doesn't sit right where the arm comes down - see pictures.

The lever can be pulled out on a spring and put into any position - I put the pointy end up front on the carpet. Real easy to pull and reposition. In case you were wondering ...

Nice looking mount. Seems everybody and their brother is coming out with a electronics mount. For me i'll stick with my Cisco's, very happy with them. If anybody wants something simple and old school Johnny Ray would be my next choice. Obviously I'm not a fan of Ram.

I installed an 8" version on my boat a few weeks ago. For my application the super rock provided some improved flexibility in range of motion versus a cisco. The mount itself is solid and has none of the flex associated with a RAM mount, but the Lowrance gimbal bracket leaves something to be desired. I think that would be an issue with any aftermarket mounting solution. I'll be beefing that up somehow in the near future to take some of the wiggle out.

For those who are wondering, it's a 2015 Ranger FS. The dash was a perfect fit for flush mounting Carbon and older HDS series graphs. It's not feasible to enlarge the cutout to fit a Live series graph. Ranger may have updated the recess in the dash to accommodate flush mounting the Live series on newer FS and cup equipped models. I like the visibility of this location better anyway.
