"Well the drive from the OP's location to Minnewaska is 4.5 hrs and it's 5.5 to Mille lacs. I'd go the extra hour down the road if catching fish is a number one priority. Even though you can't keep them the lake is full of fish."

Show me where I said a peep about Mille Lacs. I didn't. I just pointed out that the OP asked for advice on lakes in southern MN and Baseline recommends Vermilion, Leech, Winnie and Cass. None are in southern MN. At least I answered his question. This reminds me of the posts where someone asks about the best electric smoker and everyone recommends smokers that aren't even electric. Maybe reading the OP's question before posting makes some sense.

You okay there??? Seem a little defensive bub. I didn't say you said anything about Mille Lacs, did I? I stated if you're going to drive 4.5 hours to Minnewaska , might as well drive another hour to Mille lacs. I think i gave a good answer to the question too.

Nope, but i have fished Mille lacs. Minnewaska looks like a nice lake but you can't tell me it will out produce Mille lacs. Had consistent 40 walleye days per 2 man boat- this was during a hatch, in fact there were 3 different bugs hatching that week. Resort owner was apologizing because they were catching double the week before. Only experienced fishing that hot on Erie.

Now you do realize me stating that I'd rather drive another hour to Mille lacs is my opinion, which I'm pretty sure I'm entitled to.

Oh yeah, I agree. Just mentioned that if one was going to take a 4.5 hour drive to the recommended lake I'd just as soon drive another hour to Mille lacs.

If that's farther than the OP wants to drive or if the OP wants to keep fish then Mille lacs doesn't fit.

Default Mille Lacs

Until fisherman refuse to put their rigs in that lake the lunacy will continue
