A David Fritts lure knocker - a weighted lure retriever you tie onto any length of string. I attach mine to a mason's string and have used it up to 30 feet deep.

It's dikafawt but follow along here.
USE a 5 gallon pail to AVOID dipping bottoms.
Advice given as a result of past practices.
(We also have a porta-potty under the cuddy cushions but too much bother to clean compared to dumping the 5-er when we get back to the cleanout station.)
Anonymouse does NOT poop where he eats.
(And lied about not keeping any, just in case those Aliens DO show up.)
So you eat out alot ?

Since I first saw this thread a few days ago, I’ve been thinking. Besides many obvious items that have been mentioned, there are a lot of things that have improved fishing over these last many years. I pilot, spot lock, cruise control, troll control on the big outboard, gunnel tracks, just to name a few.

Nah, the Mrs. BP meds have reduced the need for that right on schedule with the decline in the urgency to service the man unit.
It's nice to grow old together and still stay in sync, even if not QUITE as much fun. Trade-offs, one supposes, good for not so good.
