You'll see those if you go to the individual forum pages.

If you do what I do...which is click "Quick Links" / "Today's Posts" (after you've clicked on Message Board at the top of the page to get you to a page that has the option in the bar above the forum to do that)....you won't see them, and you'll only see all the new posts from your last visit.

You do have to hit "Quick Links" / "Mark Forums Read" to unhighlight all the new posts that you didn't read, so that when you come back again and click on the "Today's Posts" it will only show you the new ones since your last visit.

Easy Peasy....life's too short to be pissed off.

Red face

Thanks for the ideas, everybody.
My ad blocker was off for a day.
Porn would have at least been interesting.
If it takes a 100 posts to become a "Slot Fish", Juls, how do you get to be a "Super Moderator"?
Tight lines,
Chris

As far as I can tell Minnow is 0 to 75, Slot Fish is 76 to 150, Keeper is 151 to 500 and Wallhanger is over 500.

You become a super moderator when you have a glove with all the infinity stones and with one snap of the finger you can turn anybody's post to dust.

Just installed ad blocker Plus for Chrome. Those ads blocked. The pesky video popup on every page went away. Took seconds to install the add on from Google. I'm certain they are now tracking my every key stroke somehow. I hope they like fishing and boating information! Blocked 20 on this page!

Spend 20 years moderating a website. Although, I do like Pokey Fisherman's explanation better.

Well, The sponsored ads at the top of each forum is a recent phenomenon. My guess is that whoever owns Walleye Central decided to turn on the ad aspect of this. I write a blog and they have a setting on it called Monetize, meaning if you agree to allow ads on the blog, you will get paid for every click through. It may not be much but with this site getting a lot of looks, it may add some additional monies to the owners. I decided to keep my blog about fishing and not about selling. I suspect that Walleye Central can turn off the ads if they want to, I suppose it just depends on how much money they are making by allowing them.
