Default Honda 9.9 kicker cable loose

So I have a cable thats loose on my kicker. There is a slot that it should go into but can’t see how to get it to stay in there. Anyone know how to tighten it up once I push it into the slot. Kicker changes rpms as I turn. Thanks.

Looks like there should be a cover plate or grommet that pops in there and keeps the cable slid into the slot to the left. Somehow it must have fell out?

Enter your model and/or serial number here and look thru the diagrams to see if is shows anything.

Like mentioned above, you appear to be missing part # 21, the grommet that retains both cables in the slot. Here is an example.
