Alternattives - paint soft plastics

Just wondering if there are good options for painting soft plastics from craft stores, hardware stores or wal-mart.
I've seen stuff like Spike-it Chunk and Paintn and while that would be cool, I live in Canada and it is hard to get a lot of the normal stuff online, as places like tacklewarehouse can't ship flammable things across the border.

I am mostly looking at adding specific colours to large plastics I already have.

Have you tried using permanent markers? They can be had in a whole rainbow of colors. Depending on the base color of the bait, it may take some trial and error to achieve the effect you desire.

I use markers. It works pretty well actually.

Yeah, I have used markers. I guess the baits I'm trying to change the colour of are dark blue and green and I'd like to paint them orange. Spray paint won't cure or stick. The markers won't go over the dark colours.
