I would think that every reputable boat manufacturer in the world uses only tin plated wire for each and every wire in their boat when it is being built.

Just simple common sense and normal directions from the manufacturer would imply the use of the marine tin plated wire.

I'm pretty sure you can hit 60 with out the jackplate. I have run 60mph with 3 people, 3/4 tank fuel, kicker, 36v system, flip bench and gear. That was with the 3 blade, motor in highest position, and a slight chop on the water. Not sure if the etec 250HO puts out the same power as a 250 SHO at high rpm.

How did the boat handle as cruising speed and turning etc. This is with the 21P Bravo

Prop update from the weekend. I was able to run the 21P Bravo FS on my Comp 205 with 250 SHO on Sunday. The wind was probably 15 to 25mph on Winnebago, not great conditions for prop testing. I was able to make a few limited runs in the river and managed 55mph @ 5600 rpm before I let off. Fuel burn @30-31mph was around 6.3 gal/hr and 4.7 to 5mpg. The boat felt quite loose at high speed when trimming out. Some of this feeling may be from not having my load balanced in bow. I had lot of gear and front live well full. I'm confident If I had less weight, my speed and rpm would have been higher. The 250 SHO likes to run around 5900rpm so I am thinking about moving down to a 20P Bravo FS. I think with full fuel load, gear and people, the 20P with engine mounted in 3rd hole will be good setup. It will probably take a few more weeks to get the 20P and test it. I will post results .

You said you did your test in the river. So were you with or against the current ? How big is the current out there ?

Not much current, I went both directions. It's possible my 21P Bravo was not a true 21P prop. It acted more like a 22 or 23P based on rpm. I've read of this being the case on other forums with Bravo Props. I should be getting a 20P Bravo in the next week or two and will most likely drop my engine one hole at the same time. Boat was pretty loose feeling at high speed with slight cavitation when holding bow up working 3'-5' waves. I also felt slight cavitation in turns with engine mounted in highest position. If new prop doesn't show up by next weekend, I will be running my 20P Saltwater series prop. It would be good to do a back to back comparison.

I have a 19 pitch Yamaha Saltwater Series on my 250SHO and it pushes my Comp 205 to 58mph at 5900/6000 rpm. I had the 20 pitch previously, and the 19 seems to work better overall.

What hole is your motor located?
