suspension pedestals....recommendations
I am looking for thoughts on suspension pedestals. Springfield offers the EZ Ride and Wave Master pedestals. I like the simplicity of them. Anyone use them?????? Keeping the height to 15 inches or less is also a consideration.
The Smooth Moves type get good reviews but are more bulky. I would use these in a 16 foot tiller so the pedestal variety are attractive. Any input would be appreciated........ |

Suspension Seats
I have the Springfield 27/8 seat and it is spring and not hydraulics so its pretty bouncy...check out this video i made and you will see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2zurgdw3wA

Yellow Fever.....
I watched your video when I was researching the other day. Your pedestals looked like the EZ-Ride 2 7/8 .I was surprised how bouncy they were. The Springfield site says they have a shock absorber around a spring....apparently not hydraulic, eh????? Sitting facing the console with both hands on the wheel, you probably don't feel that your safety is compromised. With one hand on the tiller, I'm not sure I would feel as secure. That's why I was curious about the Wave Master...wondering if it has more dampening and is less bouncy.... REW.... That last component you referred to is interesting.....reminds me of a mini Smooth Moves...at least externally....wonder whats inside????? PS...Yellow Fever.....kind of chuckled when the guy in shorts and tee didn't want help ...but then maybe a little "hanky panky" helps keep November days a bit warmer....??? |

Another suspension seat pedestal:
http://www.arrigonidesign.com/pedestals/ This one has a spring over a hydraulic shock absorber. Note the cut away drawing of the post. Another post: http://shop.coolwaterproducts.com/St...xx-SST10XX.htm Last edited by REW; 02-13-2016 at 03:31 PM. |

This NEW "smooth move - Ultra" seat base seems to be a great looking base.

Wave Pro Pedestal
I would look into the WavePro Pedestal. They are the same size as your stock pedestal but they are made from a Fox racing Shock. Great ride and durability I have been running my for 4 years now and love them. They are the only true air shock pedestal everything else still uses a spring system.

Wave Pro Pedestal
Catch 22, I do not use the locking device. I like being able swivel freely w/o having to unlock the pedestal.
