Default I may have found the perfect big water boat

http://www.lifeproofboats.com/25-runabout

Looks to be a very safe and also has good protection from the weather. Good options and lots of walk around room. Seats six people appears to be able to handle rough seas but they don't show it in four footers.

But I'm sure it's out of my price range.

Your correct it may be one safe vessel, but it takes TWIN 150's to get to 40mph. Not only will it cost a few bucks to buy, it will then suck your wallet dry every time on the water. Go ahead and let us know how you like it.

It looks to be a great boat.
But you may have to upsize your tow vehicle with the 5,000 lb dry weight.
The twin 150 hp motors will push it nicely and as long as you are not running the power generation units wide open will have reasonable operating costs.

With the design and weight, it should be one very smooth riding and dry boat.

Good luck

By the way, the over all boat design and appearance appears to be rather similar to some of the boats that the Coast Guard as well as water patrol and boarder patrol officers run in their daily rounds.

Good luck

Looks like about $130K for that boat.

So, for a few bucks more I could just get a Ranger?

My F150 is rate 11,000 tow . But I'm sure this boat is at least double what I could afford.

But it's early spring, time to dream! Walleyes in the teens, 50 pound Muskies, fishing trips, and a new "perfect" big water boat. Why do I always dream about unattainable things?

I've seen the coast guard in something similar on L. Superior. I think they use it for rescues.

I think it is suitable for transporting tourists to the island. Or a confined rescue.

Then you must have a prototype F150.
