Default first reel

Hi!! I'm new to fishing. Now I'm picking up my first personal gear. I was told that spincast reels is good for newbie. I found a list on the web. If there are any worth buying for me?

I love spincast reels for certain applications, and have a bunch of the old Johnson Sabra's.
Having said that, I would suggest you just buy a decent spinning reel and learn how to use it, there are 10's of millions of them that are being used.

Are you new to just ice fishing or new to fishing period? If new to ice fishing and you have open water reels that you already use then use one of those on an ice rod. May have to swap out the line for something that works better in the cold but any spinning reel will work.

I would suggest to choose a spinning reel and try to catch multiple times and learn from it. If you ask me then I would say Pflueger president and Okuma Ceymar are the best spinning reels and also beginner friendly in my experience. However you have multiple options to select your favorite spinning reel from amazon.
