Default stainless prop on 115 opti

I courently run a 17 pitch trophy on my 620 tiller and i get alot of prop rattle. It only gets about 5200 rpms. Would a aluminum prop be a better choice for my rig? Ive also had a 23 pitch high5 and that was even worse.

I don't know if they make a Laser in 17p for the small hub motors but it is a fairly light SS prop. I ran a Quicksilver SS prop on my old 125 and it didn't rattle at all, was the lightest SS prop I could find. I would scrounge around on Ebay for one and try that before going aluminum.

Have you thought about trying a FloTorq III or IV hub kit? Here's some light reading for you: http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/005464.html

First get yourself a flo torq 3 hub kit and try that it should take most of the rattle out. If you want to go to a 3 blade either the Mercury vengeance 16 , quicksilver silverado 16(same as mercury, but cheaper) or a powertech NRS3 16. A 3 blade should bring up those rpms 300 to 400 rpms.

What would be the suggested rpms, it says 5000-5750 but thats a big range, do i want to be close to that 5750 or not? 5000 just doesnt seem like max performance.

With a 16 pitch 3 blade it should run in the 5600 to 5700 rpm range where you want to be.

Normaly you want to run near the upper end. My 125 classics range is 4750-5250. I run ~5k or little faster depending on loads.

I found a 13 1/8 x 16 vengeance, wondering will this prop get me more speed and rpms. What is the prop known for holeshot, speed, ect. Propman said to try this prop and i was just curious if ll get more speed out of a 3 blade. Could i get a higher pitch and still get my rpms i need out of a 3 blade.

What kind of speed are you getting with the trophy 17? The thing with going to a 3 blade it will be a slower holeshot, most likly going to run same speed with that boat. I still think you need to buy a flo torq 3 hub kit and see how that does with the prop rattle. Usually a 4 blade runs better on your setup. As far as a bigger pitch 3 blade that will decrease your rpms, you what to be as close to 5750 as you can.
