Default NPAA $$??

As Tommy stated under the Gary Gray post, this should be a different thread. After having seen and heard many people bashing the NPAA my question is this; where does the money go that is generated in this organization. Do the directors receive any compensation? Those of you who have the answere to this question should defend yourself. Also, what are a few of the major accomplishments over the last few years? Thank you for your answeres and this thread is not intended to bash anyone, just to get clarification.

Ahoy 10 Pound:
I note that you've only been a member since March and probably have missed some of the "spirited" discussions concerning the NPAA that have taken place on this board in the past. However, this is probably not the best forum or approach to get the "answers" you desire...

"Those of you who have the answere to this question should defend yourself. Also, what are a few of the major accomplishments over the last few years? Thank you for your answeres and this thread is not intended to bash anyone, just to get clarification."

As an anonymous poster you may have some difficulty getting anyone to engage in a serious discussion of this topic. I acknowledge and support your right to maintain this anonymity but you should know that it will impact who will comment and how much will be said.

1)I would recommend visiting the organization's web site @
http://www.npaa.net/

2)do an archive search on this board

3)remember that the NPAA isn't for everyone and isn't designed to be for everyone, it is governed by volunteers-elected by members (touring pros) who chose to be members, also voluntary.

There are many schools of thought regarding NPAA and I'm sure we'll get an opportunity to hear from several regarding this matter.

Wow, a simple question and you give a long answere without even answering the question. I have been on this message board for 10 years. Just got around to registering recently. I have been to the NPAA site and found no answeres to my questions. I posted as a registered user, don't give me this anonymous BS. I am just looking for some simple answeres. This is the appropriate forum being most NPAA members are tournament fishermen also.

I have been involved in many non-profit organizations and everyone has its financial statements available to the public. I have considered joining or contributing through our walleye club but I would just like someone to explain it on this public forum.

10 Pound,
Dave did answer the question:

"3)remember that the NPAA isn't for everyone and isn't designed to be for everyone, it is governed by volunteers-elected by members (touring pros) who chose to be members, also voluntary."

The answer is, "No". The Board of Directors do not get a paycheck. The money generated from memberships is in the bank. The NPAA will not answer your questions on this site. That's why they have their OWN site.

Use the search function here and enter NPAA. You'll get enough to read and keep you busy for awhile.

I suggest you do as Dave said and contact the NPAA with your questions. They're quite friendly, unlike the way you're coming across now.

You're initial post was also less than friendly when you gave the warning that those who answer must defend themselves. Defend themselves against what exactly?

You'll need to call or email them to get that information. As a member, you are allowed into the "members only" section of their website, where in this case you would be allowed to view the monthly "Minutes" from their meetings, where subjects like the one your searching for are located.

Defend themselves against the post that was made under Gary Gray post. Why is it so hard for a member to come on here and take the opportunity to share the positive information about an organization? I don't know that my question should have come across so negative, lighten up. I figured there were enough people on this site involved to give an answere.

I'd take her reaction as a response to your questions. You must be on to something. :)

Well, it would have helped if you had been more clear when you started your new thread. Just because you responded to the Gary Gray thread prior to starting your own thread... only means that YOU were the only one up to speed with your thoughts.

Oh yeah...on a side note: When you email the NPAA, be sure to leave your name. The anonymous deal only works here. ;)
