Default LOTW Actual Report?

Thinking of bringing my son to Lake of the Woods next weekend ice fishing. I don’t want to drive that far if the fishing is not decent. Any actual reports from the South Shore?

You can pm me if you would rather.

I just got back on Sunday from Lake of The Woods. We stay at Slims Resort so we come out of the SE side of the lake. The first day we were out about 7 miles in about 32' of water. The fishing was slow to say the least. We kept only 5 fish - 2 walleye (19" and 17") and 3 nice saugers. Probably caught 15 fish total. The second day they took us out about 13 miles in 35' of water. The fishing was a whole lot better. We did keep track of fish caught. We caught 36 saugers and 26 walleyes. Biggest walleye was 22". We were kind of selective with the fish we kept. We kept 7 walleye and 20 saugers. There was 4 in our group. We had the most luck on a pink/white glow VMC Tingler Spoon and a Green UV Macho Minnow. You had to pull them up off the bottom about 10' before you could get them to hit.

Good luck and stay safe.

We just got back from Zippel Bay. We stayed in a sleeper house in 16' where we fished the first afternoon and evening. 5 fish there for 4 people with 1 keeper. The next day we fished from a house in 31', caught maybe 15 and kept 3. The biggest was 14". So, very slow fishing and no size. Hope you have better luck. Id' skip the shallow and try deeper water.
