Default link 858 hd di with 999

I have an 858 C HD DI linked with a 999CI HD SI and I link. It was my understanding that I would be able to view on the 858 down imaging and side imaging through the 999. Is this correct or am I missing something? I am able to view everything except the side imaging on the 858.
Thank you in advance for your help.

As long as you have the most current updates and an ethernet cable hooked between both units, you should be able to share to each unit with the information available.

I echo Kevin's reply: as long as your software is current, your 858 can display everything that your 999 can, and vice versa. My 959 XD is currently showing me the SI and DI from my 999. I have a y cable and two transducers: a transom mounted SI transducer and a through hull for 2D.
