I feel most comfortable at 73 - 75 with my tandom trailer. A touch slower with a single.

If you haven't already you should check the speed rating on the tires for the 5th wheel. Most are limited to 65 mph. If you have ST rated tires I believe those have a 75mph speed rating,

This is good advice to check the tires for speed rating. I have a buddy who has blown two tires on his 5th wheel in the last year. I know he tows faster than I do. I always figured they were like car tires. I did hear you can get them in 14 ply. I wonder if that affects the speed rating at all???

Also make sure your trailer is rated for your fully loaded boat. If bought new from a dealer probably OK. If bought used it might not be. I learned this the hard way. Nothing more exciting than having a trailer tire blowout when you're doing 70 down the Interstate.

Dealers often put under sized trailers under boats to hit a price point. If you look at boat shows the trailers are barely rated high enough for the basic boat in some packages.

This^^^^^

I bought my boat from a Crestliner pro staff guy who got it directly from Crestliner and the trailer was way undersized.

I bought a new fifth wheel last year and I told the dealer I wouldn't pull it off the lot unless they upgraded the tires. I blew a tire on my boat trailer at 60 mph last year and it mow has D rated Goodyear Endurance tires on it. It always makes me think a bit when I see people pulling a camper 75 mph on the interstate. I don't think some of them have any idea of what their camper has on it for tires.

Most of the time 65 mph on freeway with 5th wheel and boat. If the road is smooth and no cross wind up to 68 mph. On two lane 55 mph road 60 to 62 mph. Try not to ever tailgate. You never know when the car ahead of you sees a garage sale sign and hits the brakes full force to get a deal and your trying to stop just as fast as them.

70-80 but rarely go 80 for long.

Have D rated 15” tires on it now.
