Default Ranger Boat cover straps coming loose

Any tricks to keep the straps from vibrating in the wind and the sleeve with the velcro sliding up?

Any strap needs 1/2 twist to stop the rapid oscillation in the wind.

This.......works. Twist the strap once going down from the cover, go around trailer and up, twist again, fasten into catch and fasten to velcro. Should stay. My Ranger dealer showed me when picking up new boat.

Depends on whether you are going down to the trailer or under the boat. For under the boat you need a twist on each side. Then when you pull down try to get enough to wrap it back around the whole strap one time and down to the Velcro. That will help to keep it from riding up.

Her is my process for down to the trailer that I teach my kids and wife.

Outside in and back.

Take the strap and go down to the trailer on the outside of the frame to the inside between the frame and boat and then the strap goes on the back side of the loop you just made towards the back of the boat. Fasten it back to the cover and then wrap it once and back down to the Velcro. This makes a natural twist in the strap that keeps it from flopping in the wind. This also puts a little tension on the sliding Velcro piece that keeps it from riding up and keeps the loose end of the strap behind the other strap out of the wind.

My Angler series/single axle trailer has just enough clearance for the straps to miss the waterline strip area of the hull. When I put a twist in there is minor contact, but at least it does not chafe.

If Ranger were to make a nice hoop bar to the outside of the trailer frame would help keep the strap away from the trailer just enough to avoid contact and no more routing over channel frame. Something like the grab handle for the boarding ladder.

Heck I think I may have to just get me a pair of those handles!
