Those patents are for the track system and the cover attachment. Lots of chest pounding about IPS patents but no evidence.

Does it really matter? It's not like anybody here is gonna start building boats and advertise IPS2 hulls.

It doesn’t matter. There has been some obnoxious comments about the topic and I only want to set the record straight and hope that those presenting the obnoxious comments see that it is not appropriate.

The fact is that the elements illustrated by the IPS trademark are common in many other boats. It is not something special.

I credit Lund for their marketing which cause some owners to buy into a sense of exclusivity. Some participants on this thread bought into it hook, line and sinker. That is really good marketing!

Lund has a patent #6,886,489 and #7,341,231 on the IPS design and a trademark on the name/initials........pretty simple actually!
Well, I'm not the smartest person on WC we all know REW is...........however I already provided the PROOF that those Patent #'s are NOT for the IPS hull but rather for Cover fastening system (#6886489B2) - https://patents.google.com/patent/US6886489B2/en and the other is for Accessory Mounting System (7341231-B2) - https://portal.unifiedpatents.com/pa.../US-7341231-B2

If you would of just clicked on those links I previously provided and now once again you would no longer arguing this. . . . We should all know boat dealer reps are not the greatest source for tech info at times.

BTW that Accessory Mounting System is also used by almost every other boat manufacture out there........I have the SAME but slight different angle on my gunnels so I'm guessing that Patent was a waste of Lund's time.

Bottom line just look at my BOAT PICTURE and tell me how it's not the same as a Lund ? ? ?

Now go enjoy some NFL FOOTBALL today . . . . . GO BILLS

Thank You for "Trying" to point out the facts while some ignored them.
