Default Do you guys and gals put names on your fishing boat?

I'm trying to think of a good name for mine. My wife and daughter are involved so who knows what they will come up with? lol

My opinion: If it's a trailer boat, it's too small for a name.

I see trailer boats named all the time. They're typically pleasure craft though. I rarely see a fishing boat named.

I don't know if I have ever seen a charter boat on Erie from 18 footers to big head boats that were not named. All are fishing boats.

What ever they come up with....use it or a derivitive of both their names. It will be much easier when you need to buy the next one and you can name it XXXXX II

I also don't believe in putting a name on it. Like mentioned trailerable boats are too small. Just personal preference I guess.

Smile boat names

I have owned trailered boats for forty years and have seen thousands with names on them. I think it is a personalizing love for the boat and is great. Wife combines her name and mine and came up with Laceva.

Maybe tell us -- IS it a "trailer boat" or not (As for some members - that seems to be important).
It sure doesn't make any diff. to me - it's your boat - you want to name it - go ahead.........

It's a Lund 186 Pro V GL. My daughter wants to name it Slice of Life. She's loves the show Dexter, lol.
