No worries. Bad communication on my part. Have a good day!

REW is completely full of beans when he writes about "One concern about taller pedestals is the simple longevity of both the pedestal base, the floor of the bow area and the pedestal itself.

If you are up front and want to fish in some pretty big waves, there are going to be some very terrific forces placed on every component of you bow pedestal system.

However, if you only use the bow area and pedestal for times in calmer seas, this is a non issue."

I've never had a problem with mine in 20+ years of use. And I've been up there in 4 footers.
I had a taller one on my other boat (that I sold) but I can't for the life of me remember where I got it from! Guess I'll keep searching. Thanks for the help MN Moose!
Agree with you on the longevity. Mine lasted for 15 plus years. Thanks again!

Then I got a piece for the top of the pedestal and a spring seat base with a seat, worked out well but not adjustable. It does lock to the floor base though. The adjustable/hydraulic post on the front is very expensive and if I would have known when I ordered my boat, I would have got 2 solid posts, btw, the solid post was only about $ 45.00 Can. and the piece for the top of the post (hole for the seat base) was about $7.00.
You happen to have link/pic of this set up? Thanks Franco!

Can't do the link/pic thing but if you go to the Attwood site , you will see the pedestal post , don't know who makes the top piece for the post. Got it from a local marine shop called Central Outboard Marine in Markham, Ontario, ask for Kim. The top piece is made of black plastic so it can't be that expensive.

Here is the Attwood 238 pedestal post page:

http://old.attwoodmarine.com/store/p...s-Fixed-Height

It " appears" that the longest seat post is 39 inches and is likely special order:

39" Height B 238039-1

But, contact Attwood directly for more information:

Here is a Contact Site for Attwood:

You might give them a call and see what they can do for you.

Best wishes

I used a 30” and a 15” and luckily had a piece of a muffler pipe cut off a M farmall, that was a snug fit and bolted them together. Had to cut the bell off of one and the taper off the other. Also had a put a wood peg in the center, that turned down with a wood lathe.

This is what I purchased for the front of my boat along with a butt seat. I'm a bit over 6' 2" tall and this works perfectly on the front or the rear.

Thanks fishin10 but just a bit too low for my needs. I guess I'm looking for more of a "stand up" type pole. Thanks again!
