Opinions on 18-19' fish and ski
Right now have a princecraft deckboat and a lund impact. Last 2 years have only used the deckboat on family vacations of a week each and twice a year.....so used for 4 weeks in two years. The impact gets used all the time but not super family friendly....side counsel. I have kids that are 9 and 6 years old. I'd like to go down to 1 boat. That being said the family loves the deckboat seats and it is very nice for tubing and cruising....but we just don't use it enough. I keep looking at impact xs, superhawks, alumacraft lines, g3 and so on. Any one else been here? Both boats now are paid for. I just hate seeing the deckboat sit 50 weeks out of the year and the poor lund never gets to go on family vacations....he misses out on some very good fishing. I need input from actual owners of fish and ski models. For me Center rod storage is a must, the more and longer the better. Wife wants "comfy" seats. HELP!

A good buddy has a Glastron gtsf200. It’s an awesome family boat that fishes well. Definitely more sport oriented but it trolls very well and has a pretty big dance floor in cockpit.

Two,
The solution is simple. Use your deck boat for fishing. You already know that the deck boat is big, spacious, and rides like a dream. All that you need to do is to add some depth finders - possibly a bow mount trolling motor and you should be set. If you keep fish, just put a 50 quart cooler in the boat with ice in the cooler and that will keep your fish nice, especially if you bleed them before you put them in the cooler. Sell your current fishing boat and you will be good to go. Take care |

I have been very happy with my Lund 1875 crossover. Rear jump seats are nice for the kids to sit in. I never use the rear pedestal seat locations. Would give you more floor space then an impact. No side floor boxes. I did add cargo netting to the rear gunnel storage. I sleeve and put my trolling rods in the under floor storage. The front center rod locker has been redone for 2022. Adding even more rod storage. The bow fishing deck is smaller. So if you want to fish multiple people up front may be an issue. I have one of lunds pilot seats. I think they are nice. You would need to get two. To keep wife happy. Except I found the drivers side left arm rest to be in the way. So I removed it. You would want suspension seats.

You did not mention budget. With growing kids the 1875 might be on the tight side in a few years. Depending how many hours you spend On the lake. Before taking a break. They do have 1975 Lund tyees that are very nice. You might find at 27 inch gunnel depth compared to 25 for the crossover. That the tyees just seem a little to high for casting shorelines. But the interior is more high end then the crossovers.

I have a couple of months of use on my new Alumacraft Competitor FSX 185 and so far I really like it. This is probably considered a fish and ski model, but has everything I have always wanted, and then some. Of course I max'd out motor sizes and other accessories that added quite a bit to the boat price, but as I am in my mid-50's I hope and expect that this will be my last boat. Fits in garage with about 2 inches to spare on each end. Very happy with my Suzuki's, was considering Yamaha's (which I had on my old boat) but thought I would try Suzuki. Also glad I max'd out the Minnkota Terrova to 36 volt and 72 inch shaft as well. 2 Humminbirds on console, 1 on bow.
It has a full windshield and swim ladder. Has built-in cooler in addition to a lot of storage. The front rod holder will handle 8 footers. My 8 foot 6 inch trolling rods lay on the floor when travelling, but no big deal. Two biggest luxuries over my 15 year old boat would be going from Gen2 to Gen4 Helix's and the Autopilot and Spotlock on the Minnkota. As they say, game-changer !! |

It certainly looks like your deck boat will make a great fishing boat. Big and stable and plenty of room for casting.

Have to say if your Princecraft is the model and size of the one REW attached that seems like a very good solution. Pretty sweet boat.

Not exactly a fish and ski but have you looked at Angler Qwest tritoons? The one in my signature, 822 Pro Fish n Cruise, can fish anything from small lakes to big water( Mille Lacs, Lake Michigan, Lake Erie) You still get a ton of room like your deck boat but it's a true fishing machine.
