Default Windscreen and Side Curtains for Bimini Tops

I'm looking to add these to the Bimini top on my 1850MS and before I pull the trigger, I figured I should ask the questions I have here first.

Is installing the snaps strait forward or is special tools required?

I'm looking at ordering these from RNR Marine. Is there a better choice? Would like to get the OEM
additions so it's a perfect fit. Cost is in the $1500 range with shipping.

Lastly, for those of you who have a wind screen connector and or side curtains. is it worth it on rainy days or fishing late into the season to help with cold windy & even snowy days?
