I will give that process a try.

Just thinking about changing water levels, does the unit not take into account your actual boat elevation? In my case most reservoirs out west will see water level fluctuations of 7-15+ ft. per year due to irrigation demand. The actual bottom elevation does not change significantly but the elevation that your boat is sitting at, changes dramatically.

Hopefully the mapping takes that issue into account, otherwise that feature is worthless where water levels change.

I don't believe so. Lowrance needs to have a record stop, hopefully in a software update. This is basically their first year with on screen live mapping, where Humminbird has been doing this for years. I checked with a friend that has Humminbird Autochart live, and asked: can you stop it from recording, and still use your map, and he said: of course you can. Get it together Lowrance.
