Personally I'd go with b oat #4 from lacannes. Otherwise I go 175 alumacraft. When the day comes to get rid of the boat max hp or the closest to it is key. This along with being a Lund, alumacraft or crestliner seems to help a lot too....in aluminum boats. Polarkrafts are good boat but resale is just like my princecrafts......thousands less than the others.

Biggest thing is to have the money ready. When you find your boat you can buy it right away. If you where looking at high sided boats like the alumacraft trophy’s. Those would catch allot more wind. Maybe more of an issue with the 140. I would go with the 185 with the 140. You could always put a four blade prop on for skiing. My 185 crossover with Merc 150 is plenty fast. That’s is a high side boat with full windshield . . My Mercury 150 fourstroke only has been great. Those are simple fourstrokes without any super chargers. I would not hesitate to buy a boat with that engine.
