Default hummingbird to hook up to a new Merc Monitor

Hey there i was wondering if anyone has hooked up there gps from there hummingbird to the new merc monitor?? Im having a bit of trouble or should I say it was at my local ,marine dealer and they spent 6 hrs on it and all I ended up with was a ball of wires??? Help please i have a h-bird 1155c which is strictly a gps,thanks guys!

Yes, actually, it is pretty easy to hook up. Look for the blue/white stripe and white/blue stripe from the MercMonitor harness. The white wire is the NMEA+ the blue is the NMEA-. On the Humminbird, the White wire is the NMEA+, the Black NMEA-, the red is 12+ (DON'T USE THIS WIRE). You have to make sure your menu on the Humminbird is set to Advanced, then turn on the NMEA Output. On the MercMonitor you will go under Settings and turn the GPS update to ON. You'll know it works once you see the LON/LAT figures on the MercMonitor fill in.
