Default minn kota mounting question?????

I've got a 55# pd v2 thrust bow mount trolling motor, but i am thinking i might go to a 80# 24 volt terrova. Is the mounting bracket the same for the 2 different models? And with the addition of i-pilot do i need the autopilot feature? Or should i go with a 70# pd v2? My boat is a 17 foot with 115hp in case you need to know.

Thanks

I just replaced a 55 lb 12 volt with an 80 lb 24 volt Terrova, with a 54" shaft, and the installer said it was not necessary to drill new mounting holes - they were the same. If you are going to get the i-Pilot there is no need to buy the motor with auto pilot built in, because it would be replaced.
