Default Newbie boat rigging and set-up

Sorry in advance for the newbie questions. Looking for insights into setting up my new-used boat for walleye fishing. Have a 2010 Lund Predator with a single console and a Vantage on the starboard side. Foretrex 101 on the bow. The boat came with two HB 788ci HD--one is on the bow and one is on the console with the transducer on the transom. I've been having a hard time (especially after a 20 year absence from fishing) using the Vantage for backtrolling (suppose I need to learn to fish lefty) and there's no plotter nearby. I just got a new 1198 so I assume I could tilt it to be viewed from the stern. Not opposed to getting more electronics to place by the tiller. I'd appreciate any suggestions!
