I have si on my trolling motor and on the back, separate systems. One thing nobody mentions is that you can 360 the bow mount turn the tm sideways, not running of course and you should be able to see what’s ahead of you.

I have been using a bow transducer mounted on a separate pole https://fishingspecialties.com and can rotate the view totally independent of the Trolling motor. Poor mans Livescope, I guess. It works especially well for Sideview. Still learning to dial in the electronics, and read the images, but it is effective, and helpful, when fishing from the bow.

What would you guys recommend for a fish finder to hook up to my trolling motor, an Ulterra 80, 2017 model ? Just something simple to add to the front, no need for gps and such with a 7"-9' screen. The ones I am seeing all come with a transducer. Thanks.

Your tm already a has a US2 transducer doesn’t it? Look for a helix gps which will have 2D only. You can get them cho “control head only”. I picked up a used 10 last year for $400 from a guy who upgraded.

What brand do you have at the console? I'd seriously getting the same for the front and an adapter cable to connect to the new unit. Your available frequencies are 83/200 so no need to spend money on chirp units.

I currently have a Garmin 93 SV mounted on the dash and am happy with it.

You may have trouble finding anything new that isn't chirp in a 7" or bigger screen. I'd look used, be resigned to not being able to use all the capabilities or add a transducer user the TM.

There were a few on the swap board in the las couple months. Keep an eye on that or post a WTB.
