Default Cedar lake

When your still fishing in October and the temps are in the 20c range you definatly have to take advantage of it.Got real busy after the border opened and all the way through September but has slowed down again. Those guys that did book for Oct are getting a real treat.Walleye fishing is absolutly fantastic.I don't spend much time fishing for them as my wife and i put some muskie time in instead.Only takes a few minutes to catch a supper.Yesterday I stopped for a few minutes and had 4 walleyes in no time. But kept catching and releasing fish till my minnows were gone.Brought 3 dozen or so and was out within a hour.Turned to a favorite lure i use in winter and they jumped on that to.Got 6 guys at clarks from Wi that come this time of the year for years and they caught over 600 walleyes yesterday. They couldnt beleive it.Muskie fishing is fairly good if you put some time in.I did see 4 fish yesterday.I pulled the lure away on 2 small fish tried figure 8ing on another one but it took off and then anotger good fish that did eat my lure finally after what seemed like a long time of figure 8ing finally bit the hook.Water temps have rising over last few days up to 65F.Walleyes can be caught in 8-24 ft safely. There are deeper schools of fish but I leave those alone.Muskies are getting caught on shallow reefs and also deep feeding on walleyes and bass. Its t shirt and shorts weather after the morning warms up.

The "Krejca's Killers" work best when the sun is out. These and some tube jigs were all we used several weeks ago at Cedar. Heavier ones are for lake trout.

Big weather change.Cooler weather than water temps now.lots of fog in mornings. Not much sun either.Hope to get out a day soon.If not I'll try the jigs through the ice.I usually use bait because it's available to me at a great price (free) lol.But do at times go hairless and have good success.I use the vibrato lures a lot summer and winter and have great luck with them especially in winter through the ice.Started reading your book and find it very interesting and funny.Love the old pics. Some of the adventures remind me of my youth days.
