Default Why are the majority of items on cabelas.com OOS?

What the heck is going on with cabelas.com? The majority of the items on cabelas.com are consistently out of stock. I would think it would be tough to be in the business of sales and have nothing to sell. I've seen other businesses with shortages of inventory but not to the extent of Cabelas.

The in-store experience is not much better. The one in Albuquerque has had dwindling supply all year. They have gotten into the practice of pulling shelving units out of the store in order to not have empty shelves. Gives a bad appearance apparently.

This is what happens when both raw materials and finished goods all come from overseas.

Not unusual with use of the much-in-vogue inventory process of J.I.T. Just In time inventory system gets pretty beat up when any part of the supply chain gets interrupted.

Worldwide shortage of shipping containers! Been almost a year now! Most of Cabela's sh!t and even the brand names they sell are made in China, no containers, no stock!

Covid my friend is for all the "back ordered" items you see in stores and online. Either they are having trouble manufacturing them, they are sitting on a ship somewhere, they are stuck at US Customs etc. Last time a read there are ships sitting outside of Long Beach CA with a wait time of 2 months before they can get unloaded.

Interesting how it's cheaper tp spread containers all over the country and sell them rather than ship them back for re-use.
