Default Port Clinton

My wife and I are making our 1st trip to Erie. Staying in Port Clinton. Any must stop places (restaurants, tackle shops, etc)? FYI long time poster that has been unable to log in since the changes here a few years ago (had to make new email to get set up again).

I like to stop at Fisherman's wharf and Rickards bait and tackle.

Overboard Bar and Grill was good last year, I hear breakfast is great at Big Boppers. Hi way bait and tackle is next door if the first two didn't take all your money.

The Nagoya Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi east of town on 163 is pretty darn good. I highly recommend the Flaming Lobster which isn't on the menu but can be prepared upon request. You won't regret it.

Nagoya Roll is the bomb.

Fishermans Warf or Rickards for bait, Warf has FAR larger selection of baits.

Jolly Rodgers for fish and chips/onion rings

Hi end Mon Ami Restaurant

Arrive Wed. Fish Thurs/Fri and head home when off the water. Kind of a short notice trip (1100 miles 1 way). Using a guide since it is our 1st trip in the hopes we can come in the future with our own equipment and be more safe and successful.

Not really seafood people. Like popular local with good service (steaks, burgers, unique flavors).

The Twin Oast (yes that is correct Oast) Brewery on 53 is a great new place. Many beers to choose from and huge pretzels as an appetizer. Burgers are great and so are the perch tacos.

What guide are you fishing with?

Mitch Dougherty (Straight Fins Guide Service). He guides on Devils lake mid summer (my home town and home waters). Short notice deal.

I looked at the Orchard menu. WOW. Not cheap, but looks like just what we are looking for.

I appreciate all of the recommendations. Really looking forward to this trip even if it ends up being a bit rushed. Devils is still locked up pretty tight right now. I need soft water after the winter we had.
