Nope, Never had that issue. quite opposite with the cheapies. The batteries usually outlasted the flashlite, when the switches got flakey.

In the better Fenix, I use a rechargable Li-Ion 3400MAH. Have never depleted it, but I have 2 of these batteries so I cycle them in and out after long periods of use. But still have never ran them down.

I have quite a few LED flashlights and some do seem to run down batteries when not even used. I know it's not the batteries either because I put new batteries in both my TAC flashlights(different model lights, same manufacturer) on my guns at the same time and one still has the same batteries, but the other has been through a couple sets, just sitting there.

No, not at all on my end.........I have a LOT of those cheap Harbor Freight flashlights that they give away all over the house and garage.....need better light when your eyes get older and the batteries have held up for years.....once I turned one on at my work shop and forgot about it because I placed it upright on the lense and the next morning went down stairs and pick it up to put it away only to find the light was still lit and bright. I was impressed.

is it worth converting a Maglite to a LED bulb or do the bulbs cost more than the light is worth? Is it a huge difference, better than buying a new $10 LED flashlight? There are some pretty good price differences in bulbs and the lumens/kelvin # they emit.

My go to flashlight right now.
300 or 45 lumens.
Bright, handy, cheap enough to have in all places that need a light.

Several years ago I had more disposable income and I bought 3-4 Surefire flashlights which at that time were in the $ 200-250.00 price range each. I still have them and they work great but many companies copied them and now you could go to Walmart and get a $ 5-10.00 flashlight that is just as bright.

$400 for a flashlight????? That must be some kind of special light quality. I have a Petzel 3 beam LED headlamp $30 and a Larry Light $15 which is waterproof, bright and magnetic.
