Well, not totaly dashed... Here's the breakdown of how the Pack has a slim chance:

------------------

The Giants are basically in the playoffs with a win unless the Packers win and an extraordinary amount of games go the Packers way.

If the Giants win, the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons and St. Louis Rams will all be eliminated from playoff contention.

If both the Giants and the Packers win, any tiebreaker at 8-8 comes down to these two teams and 1) they didn't face each other, 2) both would be 7-5 in the conference and 3) both teams would have a 1-4 record against common opponents. So the next tiebreaker is strength of victory (record of teams you've beaten).

The NY Giants clinch strength of victory tiebreaker over Green Bay if:

- DET loses OR

- MIN loses OR

- Any two of the following results occur: ARZ loss, MIA loss, SF loss, CAR win, HOU win, TB win

Green Bay Packers clinch strength of victory tiebreaker over NY Giants if ALL of the following occur:

- ARZ win, DET win, MIA win, MIN win, SF win, CAR loss, HOU loss, TB loss.

If the NY Giants and Green Bay Packers end up tied in strength of victory, then tie will be decided by strength of schedule.

JCB, obviously you don't. Apparently a lot of other people do. Does that bother you? If so, keep your comments to yourself please. It is obvious you are hiding behind your computer too as you are afraid to register. I am tired of your type on this site. Please go away.

If you're hanging your hopes on a Detroit win :rotflmao: ...... well, hang it up boys. Seasons over. We're not missing the opportunity to destroy another #1 picks' career. :banghead:

Silly, silly person. The Lions always give you a glimpse of hope at the beginning. Then they settle in and play true Lions football. Check the score now. See what I mean? LOL

It would be the typical Lions to blow the #1 pick by actually winning when they really need to lose.

Actually, the Packers were pretty much out of it when the Giants won. And after the year they had, they sure don't deserve to go! Maybe getting this close will bring Brett back for one more year. It sure is a mess in the NFC this year.
Bears will be one and done anyway!
