Mustad size 2. I use all colors and don't think one is better then another.

Used matzou for years for one reason, built in swivel. I see VMC has a built in swivel on the hook to, maybe others by now. I find with a swivel at each end you get far better turning of the hook/bait. I can even add a stinger treble hook on the killer crawler and it still turns fine. That's also one reason i use cabela's rigs, swivel at both ends. If there is only a swivel at the attaching end i find they wont turn if a stinger hook is attached.

When they are just nipping that stinger fixes it in a hurry. Also with the stinger you find out if its perch or not nipping at the bait. Stingers are made of braid with a really small treble stinger is about 1-1.5 inches long.

I dont make a lot of my own rigs from scratch, i must have almost 100 Cabela's rigs in the boat. They are cheap $2-$2.50 each the only thing that sucks on them is they use light line. Once the line gets a nick which happens quick i replace the line with 17 lb fluro. I have a container of blades and beads i can make them on the boat.

Right now in a cup holder i have about 6 rigs with no line, Ill make them up when the bite is slow.

Mustard #1 in red.

I have even bent Aberdeen hooks to mimic a slow death hook and they work too. Sometimes winter days make you say, " I wonder if I made my own....would they work"? LOL

I like the Trokar version. Pretty stout hooks that don't bend and hold the point!

Walleye Nation Double Trouble was the ticket for me earlier this year in Canada. They sell for $3 each at Cabela's. They have other options as well but this was the one I like the best.

It has been my experience that some days Matzuo Death roll works better... some days Mustad works better.
The look and shake is quite different between them.
I suggest you have both in your boat.
