I use to use the Louisiana Fish Fry but found Andy's to be just a better kick and not overbearing. Give it a try, if you don't like it you're only out a buck or so :-)

This is exactly what I use, peanut oil is better but the cost in my opinion is not worth it. You can get big containers of Zatiran's at Sam's club very cheap.

From my experience, Peanut Oil is definitely the best (and most expensive) and I like to use a mixture of Fry Magic and some kind of shore lunch, maybe the Cajun. Very light seasoned coating.

I'm a Drakes fan too. Especially for panfish since it lightly breads but does not mask to delicate flavor. I like corn flake crumbs on thicker fish like walleye.

Peanut Oil and Uncle Bucks in the bag. They make them in cans and bags and just like the taste better with the bags. They also make a spicy one and believe it does not have much flavor compared to the regular, just hotter. Have been using this combo for 7 years when I usually get tired of something only after a couple.

We take several types.

Zaterans
Andy's Red (favorite)
Any of the commercial beer batter mixes
Crushed Corn flakes, milk/egg batter pan fried

A week or two of fish at least once a day makes a variety of ways of fixing them nice. Wife likes to broil them in the oven with the same seasonings she uses when doing sea food on the grill at home.
