Would like your opinions of this boat. How it handles and is a 150 Merc enough motor. Any options I need to get?

I can't say how it handles, or comment on whether or not the 150 is sufficient--but I think it's a very nice boat. I was really torn between the 1850 Raptor and the 1875 Impact for quite a while. Sat in both for hours at the shows...for me it came down to the dealer that seemed more interested in earning my business, but I'm sure I would have been happy with the Raptor if I had gone that direction.

I would test drive the Raptor, 1875 Lund Pro V and Impact and AlumaCraft 185 Competitor all in similar conditions, you should
Notice a lot after that. Not being pissy but you gotta Test Drive and as Champion boats used to say, Ride and Decide Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

same lake. But what are the chances of that happening? It's not the same as test driving a truck. BTW; I don't test drive trucks anymore, I just buy them.

I had the 1850 Raptor with a 150 merc 4 stroke and it was plenty of engine. At 5,000 feet I could hit 46.5mph with a 19 tempest plus.

You can DEFINITELY drive them the same day in my Area, Lund and AlumaCraft are 25' from eachother and Crestliner is 15 minutes away. Trucks are a Tad different, Crestliner is a great boat but won't ride as good as the other 2 with its less deadrise and typically is wetter in Cross Waves and Chop

The Crestliner Raptor is 17 degrees at the transom. I'm curious what you're basing this comment on. From what I've seen, the Raptors are pretty good rough water boats, at least the 2050 is, due to their 17 degree deadrise and lack of a flat running pad like the Lunds. I could be way off because I haven't ridden in the Alumacraft 205 or the Raptor 2050, but from watching both boats running in tournament conditions, and based on what I've heard from their owners, I'd take the Raptor for both ride and speed. When I was looking for a boat I looked for one with a deep deadrise, deep bow and deep inside depth. But that was because I fish big water. If you fish smaller water you could do with a smaller boat.
